About Middle Quartz

The area is part of the mineral belt that extends into Leadville. Many of the four-wheel drive roads were created by miners over 100 years ago, which are now popular for four-wheel driving in the summer and fall months. The campground is near the Alpine Tunnel historic site.

Fees: Overnight Use: Single Site: $14 per night Additional Vehicle Fee: $7 per night Day Use: $6 per vehicle per day

Season: Late May through September. Actual operating dates depend on weather and snow conditions.
