Taltzen Lake
About Taltzen Lake
A small, grassy, quiet 4 unit campsite with a small boat launch and great mountain views (Hankin-Evelyn) located near the town of Smithers. A popular paddling lake located near the larger Kitseguecla Lake Recreation Site. The access road is narrow and often rough, may be restrictive for RV's/trailers. Be sure to keep an eye out for moose, beavers and many species of waterfowl. From Highway 16 turn left onto Kitseguecla Loop Road and follow for that 750 meters, then turn left (over the railroad tracks) on Kitseguecla Lake Road. Follow Kitsequecla Lake Road, crossing the railroad tracks, for 13 km. You will see a signboard indicating Kitsequecla Lake and Taltzen Lake Recreation Sites. Turn left down the access road to Taltzen Lake and follow this road for less than 200 meters to the site. You will see Taltzen Lake on your left while enroute to this site.
