Blackwater River Crossing
About Blackwater River Crossing
This site provides a scenic river setting in an open Douglas Fir forest with natural camping pads on both sides of the main road, just before the bridge crossing at the Blackwater River. The site offers the basic amenities of pit toilets, tables and fire rings. For the adventurer, there are opportunities to explore the Blackwater Canyon and Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trails. Anglers have the opportunity to explore the river and try to catch some of the famous Blackwater River rainbow trout (reminder that this river is a Classified Water - please check the regulations beforehand) Head west of Prince George to the Blackwater Road, and travel until the road turns to gravel at the Baldy Hughes therapeutic community. Continue along the gravel portion of the Blackwater Road for approximately 42 kilometres. The site is located on the left side of the road, immediately before the bridge over the Blackwater River
